Black By Maria Silver And Seraphine Design

"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."

I've taken these words from the movie Inception to heart lately. A few weeks ago I styled Fashion is for Every Body's first inclusive photo shoot featuring Seraphine Design. Even though I wasn't going to be officially in front of the camera I still wanted to dress to instill confidence in my models.

Searcy Studios did a stellar job of capturing Chiquita Palmer and Ashley Hamblin in their formal splendor. Here's a few behind-the-scenes shots.

We're all wearing jewelry by Seraphine Design but I needed to be decidedly less formal. The new Mercedes blouse from Black by Maria Silver's latest collection, Soulflower, was the perfect choice. I took a risk and wore the gorgeous, sheer top with a black bra and no cami underneath. The result is retro and funky without being dated or costumey. The shoes you may remember from several years ago. I borrowed them from Krystle Ramos to wear to Nashville Fashion Week. Krystle gave them to me for my birthday this year and I think they are the perfect compliment to the blouse. Adding my favorite Native + Nomad shades punctuated the vibe I was going for.

What do you think? Does this outfit say "stylist" to you?

About those big dreams... Krystle Ramos moved on from Pura Vida Vintage. She and her family - including her two-month-old baby - moved to the West Coast for a fresh start near extended family. I will miss her terribly but I applaud her bravery. Likewise, two local women I admire greatly, Melissa Watkins of FabGlance and Payton Dale of The Payton Project are pursuing their dreams in addressing and styling their readers with their specific expertise.

If I'm going to dress like a badass I need to act like one. In addition to focusing on the local fashion scene and my work with Fashion is for Every Body Spashionista will include styling sessions and advice for people with disabilities. After blogging for more than 5 years it's time to focus more prominently on helping people with disabilities experience the transformative power of fashion.

I'm also the new Style blogger at ALTER UR EGO. Check out my inaugural post, Three Reasons You Should Be Fashionable.
