Fashion Friday: Dinner Anyone?
Next Thursday the US celebrates Thanksgiving. I used to cook a massive dinner for my husband, his parents, and myself. I always ended up stressed out and exhausted with far too many leftovers after the fact. We do things differently now. Hubby and I actually go out for Thanksgiving and I cook part of a communal meal with his extended family that takes place several weeks later.
I'll talk about the "Thanks-mas" gathering soon. Today I'm going to enjoy a fancy dinner with my husband.
Yup, this outfit is "to-the-nines" - but Thanksgiving only happens once every year. The centerpiece is actually a back portrait collared vintage Scaasi wrap cocktail dress. Wrap it up in a white Biba Marabou feather stole. Carry a black quilted shoulder clutch like this vintage Chanel and strap on the TECO T-Strap shoes with gold leather paillard detailing. The bling's the thing in this outfit of neutrals that makes it pop. The gem cabochon necklace from Talbot's is less than $100. The bracelet by Kenneth Jay Lane is triple that but there are many costume alternatives available. The drop stone earrings are clip ons by Oscar De La Renta - too pricey for me at $263 but reasonable for ODLR's.
It's a special occasion and, for once, you should look richer than the meal you're about to feast upon.
I'm very, very thankful that you're following my blog and I wish you and yours a happy turkey day!
