Fashion Friday: #23

If you read my last post, Out With The Old, I shared Regina Brett's 45 Lessons Life  Taught Me. I will now direct your attention to #23 on the list, "Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple."

How about if we swap "stylish" for "eccentric"?

New Year's Day was miserably cold and drizzly but I wanted to return a few things. Okay, exchange a few things is more accurate. At any rate,  I braved the cold and damp and ventured out.  It's not possible for me to negotiate an umbrella so good rain gear is a must. The hat is weather resistant acrylic/poly blend by Betman New York and the wide brim keeps the rain off my hair and glasses. The Vertigo plum trench is several years old. I had to have the sleeves altered to fit my petite proportions but because the coat only cost me $30 it was well worth the investment. I wear purple and blue together often so this Allison Brittney sweater dress was my first choice for today's chill. I bought it and the violet tights several years ago as well. It's always been difficult for me to find rain boots that fit properly and don't get snagged in the sides of my wheelchair. I had to go online to find these navy opaque Capelli mademoiselle booties complete with tassels but they were under $25 and are perfect for my circumstances.

I know most of you would never wear this much color but I got compliments on my outfit from no less than five total strangers. I'm not waiting, I'm wearing purple now!

The outfits that I put together for Fashion Friday are based on my BODS profile. Sure, some of the items I use are beyond my price range but I’m certain I can find reasonable equivalents within my budget. I would love the opportunity to put some together for you for the next installment of Fashion Friday. If you’re interested email me with your BODS profile and we’ll make it happen!
