The Rules of September

What do you do on a hot September morning when the sky is as blue as the ocean and the breeze is still warm? You thumb your nose at the rules of September and wear white; all white. 

This week I took a page out of my friend Jan's book and wore a dress with jeans underneath. I bought this white lace dress last year at Marshall's for $19.99 and i only wore it once because it's a little too short, even for a petite flower like me. So I decided it was worth trying with my white Chico's jeans and the effect is a bit referential to a pantsuit. Still, I think it looks okay. Because it is a lace dress shortening it to top length just isn't feasible so it's a "wear it this way or thrift it situation. What do you think? 

The accessories are very basic, just a string of purple beads, my purple skull wrap bracelet, and purple watch. The inimitable floral sequined Shi shoes round out the outfit.
