What I Wore To Nashville Fashion Week 2015

The second week of April Nashville celebrated it's fourth Fashion Week - and, thanks to all of you, I was there to see it all. I have a lot to say about the designers I met, the friends I made, and the runway shows and events. But first we're going to talk about what I wore to the events. This year I had to come up with seven evening and two daytime looks. Fortunately, this year I had a lot of help. Three vintage boutiques, numerous accessory artisans and a gifted tailor saw to it that I looked like a million dollars all week long. Let me show you what I had the honor of wearing to Nashville Fashion Week 2015.

Music City Trunk Tee

I love Trunk. I really do. Nashville's premier clothing truck (think boutique on wheels) is one of my favorite Music City clothing spots. I love it so much I'm going to do a big feature on it in the near future. But, just like last week's post, today it's all about the tee.

Double Valentines And Other Romantic Affairs

We have a relationship of sorts with the city we live in. Our happiness is as dependent upon what our town offers us as it is in our interactions with the people that surround us. Relationships that remain stagnant are generally destined to wither and die. These days Nashville is courting it's residents with promises of revamped districts, creative entrepreneurial neighbors, quality artisenal goods and exciting entertainment. It's like falling in love all over again, and I'm enjoying the courtship.

When someone like Spy Girl throws down the gauntlet to wear purple you know good and well I'm going to take it. After all, it is my signature color.

Do you think I'm too old to be a badass? When I was a teenager young girls didn't yet have equal footing with their male counterparts. Girls were too weak to be badasses; especially someone as physically disabled and mortally shy (yup, I was shy!) as me. Then I found The Runaways and learned that I could be a badass.

Vintage Christmas For Thrifty Shoppers

I don't know about you but I prefer giving and getting unique gifts for the holidays. It's often cheaper and infinitely more fun to shop thrift stores, flea markets, and independent stores that carry gently used and vintage items than it is to fight the crowds and roll the dice on what may or may not be great deals at major stores. You may even find something you love at such a good price you'd be a fool not to give yourself a little gift, too.

Put On Your Red Dress Baby

And don't forget your high-heeled boots. Although these pictures were taken several weeks ago I wanted to use them today, post-Thanksgiving, to talk about some of the things I'm thankful for that may seem a bit trivial to some but mean the world to me.
