Tiny But Mighty 2017

As we enter the season of giving it can certainly feel like we're being bombarded for benevolence from every direction.  Add to that the stress of Thanksgiving and the panic of holiday shopping and supporting the causes we really value gets lost in the shuffle. Which is why Tiny But Mighty wants you to see happy pets posing for mug shots to raise funds to support animals that truly need help. If you want to stop seeing posts and commercials about abused, emaciated animals -and I do - you have to donate to campaigns like this featuring happy ones like Penny Lane.

Boundless

Remember Fashion is for Every Body's runway show last year? Well, it's back in a bigger, better, even more inclusive iteration called Boundless. This year, Fashion is for Every Body is partnering with Empower Tennessee, a local organization promote opportunities for people with disabilities to strive for greater independence, to produce the show. Pre-sale, discounted tickets are available for a limited time. One of our models used the confidence she gained from being a part of Fashion is for Every Body to speak out against a social injustice at her own high school. Read Ashley's story in her own words.

Black By Maria Silver And Seraphine Design

"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."

I've taken these words to heart lately. A few weeks ago I styled Fashion is for Every Body's first inclusive photo shoot featuring Seraphine Design. Even though I wasn't going to be officially in front of the camera I still wanted to dress to instill confidence in my models. Searcy Studios did a stellar job of capturing Chiquita Palmer and Ashley Hamblin in their formal splendor. Here's a few behind-the-scenes shots.

What I Wore to Nashville Fashion Week 2017

It's been an eventful year so far. If you've been following me on social media you know that I've spent the bulk of the last four months having a lot of damage to my eyes fixed by the amazing staff at Toyos Clinic. More on that - because it has forever changed my life for the better - soon. This time it's all about how to look fabulous for all six days of Nashville Fashion Week 2017 without breaking the bank to do it.

Eric Adler Clothing & Alterations

I didn't know Eric Adler Bornhop personally when I first wrote about him, and I have to admit I was (and continue to be) in awe of his talent. I expected someone with such a high taste level and impeccable skill with a needle and thread to be unapproachable by someone like me. But that wasn't the case at all. I met both him and Jason during Nashville Fashion Week 2015 and we became fast friends. Now, Eric does a great deal of tailoring for me and, if you live in Nashville, he should be doing the same for you.

The Good We Can Do

This world could use our help, dont'cha think?

Tiny But Mighty is a non-profit that raises money to help homeless animals in Nashville, Tn. Instead of focusing on heart-wrenching sadness the annual fundraiser uses light-hearted humor to solicit donations for the Nashville Humane Association. Area pets are "arrested" for various crimes, pose for mugshots and hope to "make bail" (the minimum contribution in their name).

Fashion Is For Every Body: We Did It

If you're reading this you probably know that I spend a lot of my time swimming upstream and contradicting stereotypes. I've been called fiesty, firey, bitchy, stubborn, ballsy, badass, leader and queen (among other things). Last week I got to add co-founder, co-producer and runway model for Nashville's first inclusive fashion show to the mix.

Black White And Shades Of Grey

The star of this simple outfit is the Margaret Ellis Jewelry beaded necklace. A beautiful string of shapes and shimmer in black, white and grey, this was a holiday gift that I will wear often. You can expect to see more stunning creations designed by McLaine Richardson - who owns Margaret Ellis Jewelry - in the future. I'll bet you thought my "shades of grey" title was a click-bait reference to fetishism.  Well, sort of. It's not meant to deceive. What I'm about to tell you really happened.
