Eric Adler Clothing & Alterations

The first time I saw any of Eric Adler's designs was in my coverage of Nashville Fashion Week 2014. His flair for European inspired lines and bold pattern combinations are unlike anything Nashville has ever seen.

Having  previously apprenticed for legendary Nashville clothier Manuel, Eric and Head Tailor Jason Jarrett have been creating bespoke and custom menswear for the past three years. His pieces have been worn by the likes of Alan Jackson, Paul Janeway of St Paul & the Broken Bones and Nashville Mayor Megan Barry. Little wonder, then, that he received the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund Award last year.

I didn't know Eric personally when I first wrote about him, and I have to admit I was (and continue to be) in awe of his talent. I expected someone with such a high taste level and impeccable skill with a needle and thread to be unapproachable by someone like me. But that wasn't the case at all. I met both him and Jason during Nashville Fashion Week 2015 and we became fast friends. Eric's talent is superseded by his grounded depth of character and reserved, yet genuine warmth of spirit. Jason is outgoing, spontaneous, kind and infectiously happy. His praise and support of Eric are authentic and unwavering. They are brothers in kind and their personalities compliment each other perfectly.

So it was easy to ask if they would be a part of the Fashion is for Every Body 2016 show and, when I learned they were beginning to accept clients for alterations, I really wanted to be one of them. The only problem was accessibility. The shop is located on the second floor of a building that has no elevator. We worked out a system that I can handle, but Eric doesn't want to exclude anyone from connecting with him because of physical limitations. If you are physically unable to climb the stairs to get to him then he will come to you.

If you live in Nashville and need a few tailoring or style tweaks - or covet some of Eric's amazing one-off garments - I strongly encourage you to visit Eric Adler and put yourself in Eric and Jason's hands. They'll have you looking sharp in no time at all.
