See You At Nashville Fashion Week

This will be my fourth year attending Nashville Fashion Week. During that time the population has increased by almost 31,000 to just over 600,000. A large number of those moving here are creatives such as fashion designers. Little wonder, then,  that we are poised to be the third largest fashion hub in the country. The city is now home to so many events and activities it's impossible to keep up. Nashville Fashion Week is no longer the only show in town, but it remains the pinnacle of fashion events and a relevant touchstone for designers and fashion-forward thinking participants - like me.

I'm proud to say I'm the first wheelchair-dependent person to attend NFW - although I hope this year won't be the only one. I owe a good chunk of my closet to designers whose pieces I first saw on the catwalk of Nashville Fashion Week. I owe the idea for Fashion is for Every Body's show to concepts first realized by Nashville Fashion Week. The experience has never been a passive one for me, and I'm grateful for that.

If you're debating whether or not you should invest in going let me help you decide: go! Invest in your city and in your closet as you make friends, eat, drink, and watch the best runway shows and exhibitions in Nashville. This year there are even more options available that let you customize exactly what you think you'd like to see.

Kicking things off, I'm beyond excited to be on the Hosting Committee for Nashville Fashion Week's inaugural Blogger Brunch. Here's your chance to mix and mingle with Music City's most fashionable ladies and get a great gift bag with all kinds of goodies to prepare you for fashion week.

In addition to the five-night All-Access pass, which gets you priority seating at all runway shows, admission to all after-parties as well as the incredible Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty exhibition at the Frist Center, and a seat at the Fashion Forward Gala. If you're all about the runway and nothing else you can purchase a bundled admission to all three nights of runway shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with an upgrade to guarantee priority seating to all three. As always, individual tickets for each night and after-parties are available.

Still on the fence? Here's a taste from NFW 2016 of what you can look forward to. All of the looks below are from designers who are returning this year.

Nashville Fashion Week starts with the Blogger Brunch on April 1st at City Winery. On Tuesday, April 4th, fashion week proper starts with the Nashville Designer Showcase and after-party at Oz. The following evening Union Station Veranda will host the Emerging Designer Runway Show and after-party . Thursday's event is Fashion + Photography at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and Friday's Ready to Wear Designer Show is in the BMI Lobby.  The week concludes with the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund Gala and after-party at Track One.

Tickets for all events are available here.
