I Have Good References
As you know I've been dispelling the stereotypes that surround the way Southern women dress. But within every stereotype there are elements that can be pulled out, diluted, and modernized.
Sometimes, if my better half has to run an errand that I have no interest in (such as securing a set of banjo strings) I get dropped off at the nearest discount store. In this instance I was perusing one of my local T J Maxx stores in hopes of finding a small atomizer. The outfit, Chico's white jeans, White House Black Market embellished tank, Baccini denim boyfriend jacket, and Not Rated white star oxfords from Shi. This time the color palette was unintentional. There's nothing more Country cliche and dated than matching a blue denim jacket with blue jeans, hence the white.
I found the perfect pocket atomizer - then I spotted a pair of boots. It was clear from the shape of the toe and the slant of the chunky heel that the style referenced a Cowboy boot. But they were shorter and straighter with lots of cutouts and buckles. These I would wear if they were a great bargain.
I bought them.
