I Wish I May, I Wish I Might...

Wear this dress without looking like a fright.

I was going to save this for a Monday outfit post, but I was recently asked to give some disabled fashion advice. In focusing on how I wanted to highlight what works I stumbled across what has to be one of the worst ideas I've ever had.

I saw this dress in Jones New York and absolutely fell in love with it. I thought it would be perfect for some of my Summer functions. Even though instinctively I knew better I wanted this dress to work.  I wanted to be tall enough; longer-waisted. I wanted my arms to be less chunky and the skirt shorter and straighter because as it was it would get shredded by my wheelchair. It would've been better in a petite size. Then at least the bodice would fit me properly instead of bagging at the shoulders and bust. But there's no way to hem even a petite without compromising the beautiful design in the brocade fabric

I wanted to be have an Audrey Hepburn moment. What I got was a Nathan Lane "Birdcage" moment.

I take that back. This would've looked better on Lane.

How about you? What are some of your epic-fail-what-was-I-thinking fashion moments?
