Dag-NAMM-it

This post was supposed to be a lovely photo essay of me toodling around Summer NAMM (that's the National Association of Music Merchants) in my electric wheelchair at our brand new convention center.

Unfortunately, the chair's back right tire went flat shortly after entering the building. So I sat in a very lopsided chair while Saint Hubby hoofed it to acquire some Fix-a-Flat. Sadly, because the chair sat unused for years the inner tubes appear to have rotted, ergo, Fix-a-Flat didn't. However, I did have to drive the chair full-tilt though a parking garage before we made that assessment. It kept veering to the right. It was not fun.

Plan B meant getting the old, familiar manual chair - which was fine with me! In fact, this outfit is an homage to the familiar, presented in a new way.

The NAMM floor was populated by a sea of black-on-black; quelle surprise. There was the edgy rocker in black, the edgy cowboy in black, the edgy punk in black, and the slob who think he's edgy in black.

So I wore white. My white Live A Little jacket to be precise. I really love the cut of this jacket. It's several years old but it looks chic without looking stuffy. It's been all about the dark wash Chico's denim lately and there's a reason for that. They fit perfectly and uber-comfortably. I wanted to wear my Not Rated sequin floral oxford as a nod to Nashville's love affair with sequins. Because plan A was the grey electric chair the Anne Klein watch was going to be the only pop of purple. I'm obsessed with my Betsey Johnson floral bracelet and the softer pink or the spiky rope bracelet. You also get a peek at my Betsey Johnson bag.

But the day was not for me. It was for my loving husband who is a talented musician, luthier, and pickup maker in his own right. He hasn't been to NAMM since before the flood and, although he doesn't really build much anymore he had a glorious time checking out all manner of musical marvels. After all, this is Music City.

This outfit marks the beginning of my month-long "use Boticca to virtually accessorize my outfit" challenge. I would add Vlum's  Collier Épineux Lila - necklace of thorns. I love the simplicity and delicacy of this choker.  How would you accessorize this outfit using pieces from Boticca?
