Most of these designers are based right here in Nashville. Sixteen year old Cat Freeze of Cat-land Forever Couture has been designing clothes since the age of 11, despite being born with optic nerve hypoplasia which makes her blind in one eye.

How about that?

Sadly, I will not get to attend this event. Ruby is a very small venue so only a handful of press are allowed in and tickets sold out very quickly.  But I have is a solid Plan B in place. I'm grabbing my tablet and settling in someplace where I can get a high-speed wi-fi connection (translation: not at my house) because the good people at 12th & Broad will be streaming the runway show as it happens. I'm sure I love Nashville will have some great shots from the event as well.

By the way, if you're a Nashvillian or a prospective visitor you should know that 12th & Broad and I Love Nashville truly have their fingers on the pulse of what's hip and happening in Music City, from restaurant suggestions and event itineraries to job listings.

Why don't you live here? We could have so much fun together.

Look for more featured designers posts from me between now and April 1st. You may even get to watch me panic - er, get ready - for Opening Night.
