Shopping Smart For Nashville Fashion Week
There's a time to save and a time to splurge.
If you've been following this blog for any length of time you know that I'm a big proponent of shopping for bargains and secondhand items whenever possible. Take this pretty little beaded bag I found at Goodwill for $1.99. I may end up using it to attend one of the runway shows and no one would ever guess it was so inexpensive.
But sometimes the clothes are worth the splurge. Sometimes the cut and quality of a higher-end garment make it a must-have. Sometimes you should plunk down that birthday, holiday, and anniversary cash you've been saving for that perfect piece that seems like it was made just for you.
Nashville Fashion Week is about more than just runway shows and after parties. It's also about shopping. Throughout the course of Fashion Week the city is hosting special events, trunk shows and deals at area boutiques and stores throughout the city. If you're going to be in town next week I encourage you to check out the sales as they are listed on the downloadable calendar of events at the Nashville Fashion Week website.
I'm really excited about Thursday, April 4th's runway show. It's going to take place at downtown's newly renovated Arts District, starting with a cocktail hour hosted by three 5th Avenue of the Arts galleries who will each showcase artistic works inspired by fashion. The runway shows that follow will take place outside on 5th Avenue.
Here's a glimpse at the designers that will be showing their Fall 2014 collections that night:

The after party for this event will be held at The Rosewall.
Now all we need is for the Spring temps to stop flirting with us and commit already - and no April showers just yet!
