Little Luna Vintage

I just love it when I get to showcase a local shop I'm excited about. Until recently I hadn't even heard of Little Luna Vintage . Then shop manager and stylist Brittany Gargis and I started running into each other on a regular basis at various events, and she convinced me I had to come in.

I'm so glad I did.

The shop is practically next door to the Hermitage Hotel where I attended the Nashville Style Setters Event . What used to be storage for the adjacent building is now an airy, inviting space filled with vintage treasures. Owner Jessie Gonzalez has done a great job of curating the inventory by picking her pieces from various places including wholesale markets and trade shows "to build a collection of the most unique, absolute best quality pieces."

I sent Brittany my measurements and she pulled quite a few things in advance for me to try on. I think you'll agree the results were impressive. She was incredibly attentive and patient with me, and I put myself completely in her hands to style me  however she wanted to. Letting someone else put together outfits for me used to make me a little uncomfortable, but I realize now that someone else's style perspective can inject fresh new possibilities into your own fashion point of view. It can help you see yourself in an aesthetic you never thought would suit you.

How about you? Would you be willing to let someone else style you from head to toe?

These photos represent about a third of what I tried on. Even though measurements are important they don't tell the whole "fit" story. Your body shape and height play a big part, too. That's why there's no substitute for trying things on.

The top photo is what I was wearing when I came in. I also brought my black leather skater skirt and the fantastic Llynda More boots. The rest is all from Little Luna Vintage. There are several more hat photos (and you all know how much I love a great hat) that I'm saving for later. I'd rather you relish these for now, and enjoy Brittany's stylish chapeau in the last pic.

I purchased one of the pieces I tried on. Let's see if you can guess which one.

If you're a Music City local Little Luna Vintage is located downtown at 217B 6th Ave North and open from 11-6 Tuesday-Saturday.  They offer rentals on pieces ranging from $50-$100 per day, and stylists are welcome for pulls for photo shoots, video sets, etc. If you're not local you can still peruse the online store, which is pretty basic but will soon be replaced by a more sophisticated version.
