Now It's A Party
Last week I did something I haven't done since I was 28 years old. I had a birthday party.
Only three people showed up for my 28th birthday party, so I assumed only a handful would show up this time, too. I seriously underestimated my wonderful friends. When it was all said and done about 20 people came out to celebrate with me. We sort of took over half of Pinewood Social, and I have to give them a stellar mention for rising to the occasion and accommodating all of us on the fly. They managed to keep everybody happy without drama or tension - and it didn't hurt that the evening's playlist was Classic Funk. If you're local to Nashville and haven't been to Pinewood Social you're missing out on great food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere. You won't regret it.
These party pictures represent a very diverse group of people. Within this group there are fashion, food, disability and lifestyle bloggers, stylists, models, talent scouts, social media coordinators, a hairstylist, a language tutor, a vintage clothing shop owner, a shoe store manager, a lyricist/rapper, and the co-founder of Nashville Fashion Week. I am so proud to call every one of them my friend. One of my personal goals is to cultivate good friendships with authentic people. I think this gathering is confirmation that I'm on the right track.
I've been dying to wear this dress. I bought it from Pura Vida Vintage just before the fire that destroyed their Red Barn location. Luckily it survived and just needed the hemline raised by Only One Tailoring to make it a perfect fit for me.
This was my best birthday ever! A huge thank you to everyone involved.
