Thank You Nashville Fashion Community
This has been such an amazing week for me. I'm utterly, ecstatically exhausted.
If there was ever any doubt about Nashville's growing influence and popularity as a fashion mecca for the South it was laid to rest by my experiences and interactions with Music City's fashion community. My first exposure to Nashville Fashion Week 2014's runway events, my interactions with several incredibly gifted designers, and the efforts made to afford me physical access were above and beyond description. It's that open-hearted, genuine spirit of generosity and inclusion that makes Nashville unique. It isn't about cutting throats and stepping on toes to get to the top of the ladder. This town wants to grow it's fashion scene without abandoning the sincerity of graciousness that is drawing newcomers to be a part of it all.
Nashville's fashion industry welcomed me with open arms - and it's my pleasure to return the favor. Everything that is relevant to the aspects of fashion that I already cover, from affordable, unique pieces to second-hand treasures; from petite to plus-sized; from chic couture to bespoke boho. It's all here, and it doesn't disappear after Fashion Week ends. I'm excited by what I've seen so far, so I'm going to make it my mission to continue to explore this town's fashion horizons and tell you what I see. If NFW 2014 is any indication I'll have no trouble finding and sharing stories until Nashville Fashion Week 2015.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. I still have a whole lot to show you for this year's Fashion Week and my unique perspective on the events. My photos and video coverage leave a lot to be desired because I don't have great equipment (yet. Next year I'll be ready now that I know what's required.) but I'm going to start with some sartorial shots of yours truly and some other fabulous ladies.
In the future I may revisit these outfits along with some of the other sartorial styles of the week. I just wanted to introduce you to some of the amazing people I got to know during these events. I guarantee you haven't seem the last of them.
I'll close out this post by saying thank you to the many, many people who helped make attending Nashville Fashion Week 2014 a reality for me. I'm sure I forgot to mention some of you, but I will write about many of you in the coming year.
