Couture For A Cause
In my travels around Nashville I'm increasingly coming in contact with wonderful creatives and entrepreneurs who are so passionate about what they're doing they can't help but be successful.
Take Patricia Apple, founder of Couture for a Cause. She had a vision for a nonprofit resale boutique where donors select a local nonprofit that benefits from the sale of their donated, high-end clothing. Shoppers then have the opportunity to buy on trend pieces for a fraction of retail prices while helping charities in Nashville.
Her vision is made a reality in a bright, cozy shop filled with beautiful clothing and accessories.
Apple spent a few minutes sharing her wonderful business model with me in this video.
I will freely admit I was like a kid in a candy store. There were plenty of pieces available in my size and the entire store, including the dressing rooms, was wheelchair accessible. It's also very budget-friendly. I was able to buy something I could never afford at retail, and half of the purchase price went to Nashville Cares, an organization that strives to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee.
I'm so proud to have a store like Couture for a Cause in Nashville. If you live in the area I encourage you to drop by and do a little shopping - or a lot of shopping. You'll walk away with some beautiful, high-end clothing and the satisfaction that can only come from knowing you're giving back to your own community.
