Gothic Circus

I didn't don a costume for Halloween this year. Instead I dressed up for a very special event. It was a dark and stormy night - really, it was - perfect weather for the Gothic Circus sponsored by 12th & Broad and hosted by Abrasive Media. A celebration of Nashville's growing community of circus artists, the evening's performances included "awe-inspiring aerialists, fire artists, burlesque dancers and graceful acrobatics— blended into narratives, creating a dramatic, sophisticated mash-up of theater, live performances and the body as art."

Any Old Iron Fashion Show

When you think of Nashville's fashion scene you don't necessarily think of punk. That is, not until now. British-born Andrew Clancey has relocated Any Old Iron, his punk-inspired UK designer clothing boutique, from the Big Apple to Music City. I'll bring you a feature on the store very soon. World Cerebral Palsy Day

I don't really talk about my disability very much, but October 1st is World Cerebral Palsy Day and October is Disability Awareness Month, so I'm going to address some disability-related issues all month long. Don't panic; I'm still going to write about fashion, and I'm going to link-up like crazy.
